A wedding day should feel lived in, not staged

Is this you?

Matt is for you if you...

Hate having your photo taken

Most people Matt photographs tell him exactly that. By the end of the day, the same people are usually disappointed it’s over.

Want great photos, not a photoshoot

You won’t spend hours performing for the camera, and you won’t be left wondering what to do either. That’s the only brief he works to.

Want to be with your people

He stays close enough to catch everything and unobtrusive enough that you forget he’s there. You’ll be present. And beautifully captured.

Want photos that still feel like you in 20 years

Candid and documentary at the core, with a quiet editorial eye. Your wedding, not every other wedding on Instagram.

Matt, until the last light

The weddings I remember most

Six months in. The weddings I remember most aren’t always the most elaborate ones. They’re the days where the couple was fully in it. Not thinking about the camera, not managing the room. Just there.

I used to be a builder. I’ve been photographing weddings full time for six years, and I’ve done over 500 of them. I’m based on the South Coast, near Berry, with my wife Jess and our two kids.

What I’m really looking for is human connection, those in-between moments that give the full picture of who you are together. Not the shot you planned. The one that happened while you weren’t looking.

Having a family made me more patient, more present, and a lot more protective of the moments that don’t come back. Your wedding day is one of them. If that sounds like the kind of day you’re after, I’d love to hear about it.

Most of the couples Matt works with say exactly this, and almost all of them tell him afterwards it was easier and more fun than they expected. Candid and documentary at the core, with a quiet editorial eye. Matt guides you when needed and steps back as much as possible. Your photos should look like your wedding, not like every other wedding on Instagram, and in 20 years they should still feel like you.
